Rituals To Keep Your Energetic Body Clean

Keeping your energetic body (aura) clean means finding ways to remove negative energies that can cloud our vision and deep innate wisdom. The world is a messy place, there’s plenty of different energies flying about and even for the most spiritually awakened person, it’s all too easy for your aura to become drained, muddied, or mired with a million outside influences. Finding ways to work in aura cleansing to your self-care rituals can take you out of a rut and keep you leaping high.

Here are some simple tools that you can incorporate into your daily routine to cleanse and purify yourself from any negativity. Put your own spin on it so you can clear out some of the negative energy and make room for the light.

Let’s get started with how to remove negative energy, shall we?

  1. Clear The Air

Smudging is an ancient ceremony in which sacred plants are burned, and the resulting smoke is wafted throughout a space (or around someone’s body) to bless the space (or body) with divine energy.

If you’re feeling stuck, negative, lethargic, or headachy…it may be due to some bad energy in your energetic field. Stuck energy can gather like unwanted guests at a house party. The most effective way to combat an energetic traffic jam is smudging. It can clear your emotional, energetic, mental, spiritual, and physical body – as well as your environment (home, office, or other physical space). It helps tackle any bad juju you sense looming, clears the energy in your field, and allows you to have a fresh start.

Choose a smudge tool

Sage: Has an earthy smell and a feminine energy.
Palo Santo: If sage doesn’t speak to you, try palo santo. It has a masculine energy and has hints of pine and lemon.
Selenite Wand: If lighting stuff up isn’t your jam, try a selenite wand as it works wonders too.

Open a window or door to give the unwanted energy somewhere to go

To smudge yourself, hold one end of your sage or palo santo at a 45-degree angle, light it, let it burn for about 10 seconds, and then gently blow out the flame so that you see orange embers on the lit end. Let it smoke on it’s own and do not blow on the ember. (If you prefer the smokeless version, please use your selenite wand instead.)

Say a Mantra: Any energy that is not of the highest light and for my greatest good get the f*%k out – with love, but it’s time to go. Please exit through the open window/door.

Start from the crown of your head, bring the smoke (or selenite wand) downward the top of one arm, then under, along your side towards your foot, under your foot, then repeat on the other side and back. Extinguish the smudge stick by pressing it firmly against a stone, fireproof bowl, or sand until the smoke no longer rises.

2. Take A Sea Salt Bath
It’s no secret that salt absorbs negative energy, and from my personal experience – it works wonders on your energy body! Simply soak for 20 minutes in a 2 cup sea salt bath. Feel free to add essential oils of choice, along with a tablespoon of castor oil (for silky skin).

3. Shake It Off
Dance, shake, or rebound (gently bounce up and down). Movement will help your lymphatic system do it thing and remove toxic buildup in your body.

4. Spend Time In Nature
Whenever you can, hug a tree, go foraging, meditate in the park or simply have a walk outside to regenerate. Trees have a beautiful energy that can help you feel better and prana (qi) is more pure in nature. Gardening helps too, as you get the energy back from earth. So you’re cleansing and receiving new energy at the same time.

5. Digital Detox
Turn off your phone and get off the internet regularly. Read a book instead or just relax. Receiving so many notifications and information from your devices can be draining. Turn on Airplane mode and watch your energy rise.

Finally, make sure you’re choosing to spend time with people who lift you up. If someone is draining your energy or triggering you, limit your time with them and surround yourself with people that actually understand and support you.
